Beginning Painting with Cynthia Jennings

Class Description

Saturdays from 10:00AM - 12:30PM* September 14th - October 26th 2024 (6 sessions) *Please note that there is no class on October 5. Students learn about materials, painting techniques, composition, and color. High school age and older are all welcome! This is a relaxed class which promotes asking questions and getting personal instruction. The student may bring a subject, photo, idea that they would like to paint, and we will also have a still life available. There will be instructions on basic composition, color use, and color mixing. Students will learn how to start and finish a painting by using these concepts. Individual instruction can be given depending on your experience level. We will provide materials for the first class. Bring any current materials you have to the first class, and we can look at them to see if they can be used in class, such as paint, mixed media paper, canvases, brushes etc. Email cynthiajennings4@gmail.com with any questions.
