About the event
Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences & Riverworks Art Center Present:
Empty Bowls: March 10th, 4-7pm at Locals Farm Market
Empty Bowls is a global grassroots movement that brings potters, students and community together to raise awareness and funds for local food-related charities. Each guest picks a handmade bowl to take home and enjoys a variety of delicious soups and bread! Students from Barnesville School, Riverworks Associate Artists, and local potters have created beautiful bowls that they have generously donated to this cause.
All funds raised will go to the Backpack Bites program, which feeds food insecure students in Poolesville and the Ag Reserve. The Backpack Bites program is sponsored by WUMCO, KPC Buddhist Relief and Poolesville Little Free Pantry.
The event will feature homemade soups from our generous donors:
$20 ticket - includes a student-made bowl, homemade soup & freshly baked bread (there will be an option to increase your donation by purchasing a local artisan bowl at event)
$10 ticket - available for students and artists who made or donated a bowl, but do not wish to purchase a bowl at the event (price still includes a meal of soup and bread)
*Free admission for children 3 and under.
